Maternity Sizing Info
We Trying to figure out the size you need in maternity clothes is a serious chore. We do wish there was an easy equation or simple size spitter-outer we could give you, but there isn't because every woman's body carries babies differently. So, this is what we have found to help our customers in our boutiques and it seems to really work, or at the very least, be really helpful.
As a general rule, we recommend you start your Size Journey with your pre-pregnancy size. From there, we ask where in your pregnancy you are in. And lastly, we remind you not to worry about that number or letter on the tag. Our goal is, and your investment in your maternity wardrobe should always be, your comfort.
Each item listed on the website will have the sizing equivalent listed next to the size name. Most of our maternity designers are sized as follows: XSmall(0-2), Small(2-4), Medium(6-8), Large(10-12), and XLarge(12-14). Occasionally the sizing for a particular maternity designer is different from this. If this is the case, those designer items will have a different sizing list. Also, be on the lookout for fit notes on some items. "Fit Notes" will appear in bold letters in the description of the item.
So, if you are just starting your maternity clothing wardrobe and in the earlier "bump" stages (weeks 11-20), following the sizing equivalent next to each size is pretty safe. If you are in the later "belly" stages of your pregnancy (weeks 21-40), you should consider sizing up from what the sizing dropdown lists. And with tops, always consider your chest size. If they need more room, by all means give them more room and consider sizing up.
